Complete Meal Of Rice, Dal & Sabji

This is a healthy regular meal consist of Rice, Dal, and Sabji. One can have on a regular basis because it is a balanced meal containing carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, and minerals.



Ingredients for Rice :

1. 1 cup ( 240 gm ) White Rice.


Ingredients For Dal:

1. 1 cup ( 240 gm ) Toor Dal

2. 1 medium-sized Tomato

3. 1 Bay leaf

4. 8 pieces Curry leaf

5. 1 Green chilly

6. For tempering: 1/4th teaspoon mustard & Asofetida, 1/2 teaspoon Cumin, 1&1/2 tbs ghee


Ingredients for Sabji:

1. 2 Medium sized Carrots

2. 2 Medium sized Onions

3. Few curry leaves

4. 2 Bay leaf

5. 3 Green Chillies

6. For tempering :

7. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin, black cumin, mustard and pinch of asafetida, 3 tbs oil.

Recipe For Rice :

Clean rice with water 3 times and soak it for 30 minutes in lukewarm 3 cups water and boil it in high flame first and after 5 minutes in medium flame and when it is boiled, strain it.


Recipe for Dal:

  • Clean Dal with water 3 times and soak it for 30 minutes in lukewarm water.

  • Take 2 & 1/2 cups water and add it to the cooker.

  • Add 1/4 TBSP ghee, curry leaves, bay leaf, green chili, cover the lid of the cooker.

  • Keep it in the high flame of gas until the whistle comes. After the whistle, keep the cooker on low flame for 7 minutes.

  • Open the cooker when it cools down and mix it properly with a churner.

  • Then add 1 teaspoon salt, red chili powder, coriander powder,1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, and lemon juice (optional as per taste).


Tempering :

  • Keep the tempering bowl on the gas burner in medium flame.

  • Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, 1 pinch of turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger.

  • Then por this hot mixture in Dal.


Recipe for Sabji:

  • Heat the pan in medium flame and put 3 teaspoon oil.

  • Add cumin seeds, black cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chilies, bay leaf, curry leaves, and put chopped carrots and onions.

  • Mix it and add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, 2 teaspoon coriander powder, 3/4th teaspoon salt 1/4 th teaspoon mango powder. Mix it properly and sabzi is ready.
